Presentation by Alex Ionescu, one of the ReactOS developers, at Google Montreal. ReactOS is an open source kernel, designed to be binary-compatible with Windows NT 5.2 (Windows XP).
Alex Ionescu was recently at Google Montreal providing training in Windows internals. He was invited to do one of their monthly tech talks and did an introduction to ReactOS and discussed the project's current status. It's an excellent view for anyone who wants to get an overview from a developer's perspective.

ReactOS® is a free open source operating system based on the best design principles found in the Windows NT® architecture (Windows versions such as Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Server 2012 are built on Windows NT architecture). Written completely from scratch, ReactOS is not a Linux based system, and shares none of the UNIX architecture.
