Gait analysis and correct weight distribution are emerging concepts in the medical embedded system. It is being in use for sport-related applications, balance control, human identification, biometrics, footwear design, posture correction, physical and occupational rehabilitation. While we stand or walk, our feet provide us balance and propagation. For this purpose, both feet work in collaboration with each other.


























Our body weight distributes on different parts of the feet as it lands on the ground, rests on the ground and leaves the ground while standing, walking and running. As a reaction to our weight acting on the ground some reactive forces called ground reaction forces acts on our body. These ground reaction forces are due to our weight, they are equal in amount and act exactly in the opposite direction as weight acts. Improper weight distribution during our daily life can cause the ground reaction forces to act improperly on our body causing walking disorders, muscular pain and even fracture. Therefore knowing of weight distribution in our daily life is a great matter of concern here are a variety of devices available in the market for weight distribution and plantar pressure distribution purposes.

The Weight Distribution project  aims to define the consequences of weight issues, back pain, joint pain, knee pain, circulatory issues and heart problems using foot weight distribution. The FWDRG proposes and develops intelligent digital systems that find weight distribution on different parts of the foot and identify problems. The system uses a high precision data acquisition system that collects data from foot using pressure sensors and gives it to a high performance multi-core system for processing. The system uses machine learning techniques to understand foot patterns and diagnose different problems.
